Safety Engineer - Commercial Construction (Southern Wisconsin)

Do the right thing.We are seeking aSafety Engineerwho is energized by active jobsites, earns credibility with field teams, and is committed to building a strong, practical safety culture. This role partners closely with project teams and trade partners to promote safe work practices across commercial construction projects in southern Wisconsin.You'll play a visible, meaningful role in protecting our people, strengthening our safety culture, and supporting successful project delivery. We value professionals who care deeply about people, take ownership, and lead by example in the field.What You'll DoPartner with project management and field leadership to develop and implement site-specific safety plansConduct regular, documented jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessmentsLead and support incident investigations with a focus on prevention, learning, and continuous improvementDeliver safety training, new-hire orientations, and toolbox talksIdentify safety trends and proactively implement risk-reduction strategiesReview subcontractor safety programs and participate in preconstruction and preparatory meetingsEnsure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policiesTrack, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and required postingsServe as a trusted safety resource and liaison between field teams and leadershipRepresent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety CouncilWhat You BringBachelor's degree in safety, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related fieldOR5-7 years of commercial construction safety experience in lieu of a degreeOSHA 30-Hour Certification (required)Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels without relying on authorityPractical, solutions-oriented approach with sound judgment and follow-throughAbility to work on active construction sites, including walking jobsites, climbing ladders, and navigating multi-level structuresAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodationProficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management softwareValid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.Pepper Construction is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.Please note: Pepper does not sponsor work visas.
