Hardscape Crewlead/Formen

Job Description The Masonry & Landscaping Foreman is responsible for leading a field crew through the daily execution of hardscape, masonry, and landscaping projects. This role requires strong hands-on trade skills combined with the ability to manage people, timelines, and job quality. The Foreman is the boots-on-the-ground leader who ensures every job is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule. MASONRY & HARDSCAPE RESPONSIBILITIES• Install, cut, and lay pavers for patios, walkways, driveways, and pool surrounds to spec and pattern• Perform dry-stack and mortared block laying for walls, steps, pillars, and retaining structures• Execute masonry repairs including repointing, crack repair, block replacement, and wall stabilization• Properly prep all base material — grading, compacting, and screeding sand/stone to correct depth and pitch• Ensure proper drainage slope on all hardscape installations• Read and follow project layouts, plans, and measurements accurately• Select correct materials per job spec and minimize wasteEQUIPMENT OPERATION• Safely operate Dingo / compact utility loader for material moving, trenching, and grading• Operate skid steer for excavation, grading, loading, and site prep• Operate mini excavator for trenching, digging footings, and earthmoving• Perform pre-operation safety checks on all equipment before use• Report any equipment issues, damage, or maintenance needs immediately to management• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols when operating machinery• Ensure equipment is properly secured, cleaned, and stored at end of each dayTEAM LEADERSHIP & JOB MANAGEMENT• Lead the daily crew — assign tasks, set the pace, and keep work moving efficiently• Ensure every crew member understands their role and what is expected each day• Monitor workmanship quality throughout the day and correct issues before they become problems• Conduct crew safety briefings at the start of each job and enforce safe work practices• Communicate directly with the owner or project manager on job status, issues, and material needs• Manage daily material quantities — order, receive, and account for job supplies• Ensure the job site is clean, organized, and professional-looking at all times• Be the point of contact for customers on-site — represent the company professionally• Complete daily job notes or reports as required by management• Mentor and develop junior crew members; lead by example at all timesSTANDARDS & EXPECTATIONS• Show up on time, ready to work — punctuality and reliability are non-negotiable• Take ownership of every job from start to final walkthrough• Produce high-quality work that the company is proud to put its name on• Proactively solve problems on the job rather than waiting for direction on every detail• Maintain a positive, professional attitude with crew, customers, and management• Keep a valid driver's license and ability to tow/transport equipment as needed
