Python/AI Software Engineer Remote / Atlanta, GA Blu Omega is seeking a Python/AI Software Engineer to support the CDC National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH). This role is responsible for developing new applications and software solutions, with a focus on AI-assisted development within supported operating environments. Program Overview Supporting mission-critical public health initiatives through innovative software and AI solutions. Key Details Location: Remote (with preferred onsite options in Atlanta, GA or San Antonio, TX) Clearance / Suitability: Public Trust eligibility required Responsibilities Develop new applications and software solutions from the ground up using Python and SQL. Integrate and process data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, and analytics platforms. Utilize AI tools such as Codex and GitHub Copilot throughout the software development lifecycle. Critically evaluate AI-generated code, identify issues, troubleshoot, test, and validate solutions to ensure production readiness. Apply engineering judgment to assess AI output, recognizing and correcting errors or inefficiencies. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen 5 years of software development experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Strong hands-on Python development skills Proficient SQL skills Experience with data engineering and data integration Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Codex or GitHub Copilot Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and validate AI-generated code Compensation Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
