Job Title: EstimatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Industrial estimating professional for the mechanical industries. The ideal candidate will be adept at assembling accurate estimates and corresponding detailed proposals for customers with minimal oversight.ResponsibilitiesAccurately identify, quantify, and record piping and equipment associated with various mechanical systems.Review all bid documents and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid.Handle budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, and general code compliance with a solid understanding of plumbing, piping, and HVAC duct systems.Manage and bid on multiple projects simultaneously, creating detailed estimates with appropriate material, labor, and subcontractor selections.Survey potential projects to identify optimal pricing solutions.Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals for compliance with job requirements and specifications.Estimate HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders to align with corporate profit guidelines and project requirements.Provide conceptual design and pricing support for both HVAC and plumbing.Complete system take-offs according to current processes.Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the team.Develop project general conditions and other estimate scope summaries, schedules, and necessary deliverables.Participate in bid finalization and review, as necessary.Maintain internal and external communication responsibilities with appropriate contacts.Essential SkillsProficiency in pipe takeoff software.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Consistent dependability and availability.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction office environment.Organizational skills to curate documents related to work orders and personnel.Aptitude for learning new systems.Mechanical knowledge and project management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) in Engineering/HVAC or Construction Business Management is preferred.Experience in life science/pharma projects is required.Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and the ability to assemble detailed quotes.Experience with mechanical, estimation, bidding, blueprint, estimating software, preconstruction, construction estimating, Autobid, and Fastpipe.Pharmaceutical and Data Center Mechanical Piping experience.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a fast-paced construction office environment, requiring the use of pipe takeoff software and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
