Artist Assistant

Overview I am looking for a reliable, detail-oriented studio assistant to help prepare for my upcoming exhibition in Basel , Switzerland. This is a hands-on role supporting artwork production: priming, sanding, masking, mixing color, organizing materials, stretching, underpainting (grisaille/verdaccio) - no experience required, however, an eye for detail, a steady hand & fine motor skills are essential. Occasional errands, studio organization, event admin, etc type work available as well. Ideal candidates could be seeking a part-time paid internship type experience but am open to a more full-time candidate as well. Studio Location: 176 Delancey Street (Lower East Side, New York) Requirements Strong organization and attention to detail Comfortable with physical tasks: lifting [up to 50 lbs], standing, handling materials Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently Basic computer skills (Google Drive/Dropbox, spreadsheets, email) Discretion and professionalism (confidentiality with works, clients, and business info) Nice to have (not required) Familiarity with basic studio tools and safe handling of materials Valid driver’s license (helpful but not required) Photo/documentation experience (DSLR or phone + basic editing) Painting/drawing skills Familiarity with art shipping, condition reports, crating Prior experience in an artist studio, fabrication shop, or gallery Notes: - Non-smoking / no strong fragrance policy - Studio Vibe: small, focused studio, calm environment, music ok, background noise from the active pest control store / sales and customer support calls from the separate front half of the studio - Confidentiality: Some projects are under NDA To Apply Send a short intro about yourself, your availability and anything else you think we should know about you.
