Head of Engineering
A leading international biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Engineering to drive strategic engineering leadership across their biologics manufacturing campus. This role oversees multidisciplinary engineering functions, ensures GMP‑compliant operations, and shapes the long‑term infrastructure and technology roadmap for a rapidly expanding biotech organisation.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of site‑wide engineering and EHS strategy aligned with long‑term business goals.Oversee multidisciplinary teams across Maintenance, Calibration, Facilities, EHS, Automation, C&Q, CAPEX, and Project Management.Ensure full GMP, ISO, and regulatory compliance across all engineering activities and capital projects.Drive large‑scale expansion projects, new technology installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage the engineering budget, including forecasting, cost optimisation, and investment planning.Champion innovation, introducing advanced technologies and engineering methodologies to enhance operational performance.Serve as a key engineering representative to internal leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies.Lead risk assessments, contingency planning, and engineering governance processes.Foster a high‑performance culture focused on team development, collaboration, and technical excellence.Ensure effective cross‑functional alignment with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and senior leadership teams.EligibilityMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.10–15+ years of engineering leadership experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing.Proven track record managing large, complex engineering organisations and capital projects.Deep understanding of GMP, regulatory frameworks, and biopharma operational requirements.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.Experience with budget ownership, resource planning, and financial decision‑making.Certifications such as PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent are an advantage.Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.Reach out directly to luisa.namadila@biotalent.com for further information.
