Job Title: Scientific Project Manager Location: Remote anywhere in EuropeCompensation: Salary is flexible depending on experience and location. We are currently partnered with a leading scientific software and consulting company who are revolutionizing drug development through AI powered Modelling & Simulation. They provide pharma and biotech companies with access to a vast library of computational models enabling them to simulate drug interactions, predict outcomes and accelerate the discovery of new therapeutics.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Delivery Manager to lead the scientific delivery function. This role reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer and is responsible for managing the delivery team and ensuring the successful execution of client projects. The ideal candidate brings strong project management and leadership skills, a solid scientific background in drug development and the capability to be client facing and contribute to pre sales and building lasting client relationships. ResponsabilitiesLead and develop the scientific delivery teamOwn the end-to-end delivery of client projects. You will oversee timelines, budgets, risks and quality to ensure on-time, on-scope completion to the highest standardsAct as the senior operational point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, managing expectations proactively and resolving issues swiftlyEnsure scientific rigor and consistency across all project deliverables, working closely with technical leads to uphold quality standards without being the primary scientific executorDefine and implement scalable delivery processes, project management frameworks and best practices that enable the team to grow efficientlyPartner with the sales team during presales engagements, contributing to scoping, feasibility assessment and proposal development by translating client needs into clear delivery strategiesIdentify opportunities to deepen client engagements and surface relevant platform capabilities throughout the project lifecycleServe as a bridge between clients, the scientific delivery team and internal functions including AI, data science and software engineering ensuring clear communication and alignment across all partiesReport on delivery performance, capacity and team health to the CSO, flagging risks and proposing solutions proactivelyRequirementsAdvanced degree (MSc or PhD) in pharmacometrics, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, biostatistics or a related life sciences discipline8+ years of experience in drug development, with a significant portion in project or program management roles within a CRO, consultancy or technology companyProven experience managing scientific or technical teams, with a track record of developing talent and delivering results through othersSolid understanding of MIDD concepts including PKPD, QSP, statistics and AI/ML applications sufficient to oversee delivery, engage credibly with clients and assess scientific riskStrong project management skills with experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects across diverse client portfoliosConfident client-facing communicator, comfortable leading discussions with both scientific and senior business stakeholdersFamiliarity with scientific programming environments (R, Python, NONMEM or similar) is an advantage, though hands-on coding is not a primary requirement of the roleHighly organized and autonomous, able to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions independently and drive delivery without close supervisionOpenness to innovative methodologies and a genuine interest in the evolving landscape of computational drug developmentWillingness to travel for client meetings, industry events and congresses as needed To discuss this opportunity further please contact Chris Gibson on cgibson@barringtonjames.com
