Here are the core responsibilities you can expect in this role:Triage and assessmentQuickly evaluate incoming patients to determine severity of illness or injury and prioritize care accordingly.Monitor vital signs and patient statusRegularly check and record vitals (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature) and monitor any changes to detect early signs of deterioration.Stabilization and emergency interventionsProvide immediate treatments such as intravenous (IV) access, airway support (e.g., intubation, tracheotomy), immobilization of fractures, suturing, or hemorrhage control.Medication administration and treatmentsAdminister medications-including IVs, blood products, or prescribed therapies-ensuring correct dosing and timely delivery per physician orders.Diagnostic testing and interpretationPerform or assist with lab draws, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures; gather and interpret results to inform care decisions.Collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsWork alongside physicians, paramedics, techs, and other specialists to develop care plans, refer patients, and facilitate transfers or admissions.Documentation and chartingAccurately document patient histories, interventions, responses, vital signs, and discharge instructions-maintaining compliance with legal and hospital standards.Patient and family communicationProvide clear information, emotional support, and education while maintaining professionalism and empathy.Infection control and department upkeepMaintain hygiene standards, properly clean and restock equipment, and ensure a safe environment to minimize infection risks.Discharge planning and referralsAssist in arranging home care, rehabilitation services, specialist follow-ups, or admissions to psychiatric units as needed.If you are confident in your skills, always committed to patient care and passionate about emergency nursing, apply now to be a part of our Emergency Department team.
