Hematologist / Oncologist (MD/DO) Position Summary The Hematologist/Oncologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the blood and cancer. This role involves delivering evidence-based medical care, coordinating multidisciplinary oncology services, and supporting patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic disorders and solid and hematologic malignanciesDiagnose and treat conditions including anemia, thrombosis, coagulation disorders, leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumorsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive careProvide outpatient oncology care and inpatient consultation services as neededMonitor treatment response and manage therapy-related side effects and complicationsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, and palliative careParticipate in tumor boards and care planning conferencesEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and survivorship careMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited internal medicine residency programCompletion of an accredited hematology/oncology fellowship programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Hematology and Medical OncologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in hematologic and oncologic disease managementStrong clinical judgment and complex decision-making skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex, chronic, and life-threatening conditionsCommitment to evidence-based practice and compassionate, patient-centered care Work Environment Outpatient oncology clinics, infusion centers, and hospital inpatient settingsCall responsibilities as determined by practice or service needs Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for examinations and office-based proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and treatment monitoring
