Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: In Patient Rehab/MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the health system. Description: The unit provides care for adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses. Common patient conditions include stroke, spinal cord injury, amputations, brain injuries, critical illness, and neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Nurses are required to have strong communication skills and be highly organized. Teamwork, innovative problem-solving skills, compassion, integrity, collaboration, and excellence are essential attributes for success on this unit. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6 during nights. A charge nurse is available on each shift. Nurse aids and patient care technicians are present with a ratio of 1:10-15. Nurses will float to MedSurg when necessary. Weekend shifts require a commitment of at least every third weekend. Holiday shifts require coverage for a minimum of two holidays. Additional time off requests are not approved after submission. Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas. Refusal to comply with the policy may result in termination of the contract. Candidates must have a valid driver's license for identification of distance eligibility. The charting system used is EPIC. There are no call or standby requirements for this position.
