Job Title: Buyer (Procurement Specialist I)Location: Hercules, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)Duration: 6-Month ContractPay Rate: Up to $48.07/hour (~$98,000 annually)Position OverviewThis role is a hands-on Buyer position responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities in direct support of manufacturing and sales operations.The Buyer will manage purchase orders, work closely with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production and customer demand. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can operate in a fast-paced environment, resolve issues quickly, and maintain strong supplier relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute end-to-end purchase order (PO) management in SAP, from creation through deliverySupport manufacturing and sales teams by ensuring timely procurement of materials and servicesPartner with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and delivery issuesProactively identify and mitigate supplier risks and supply chain disruptionsEnsure materials meet quality, cost, and delivery requirementsMonitor and manage supplier performance (on-time delivery, cost, quality)Maintain accurate procurement data, including master data and purchasing recordsDrive process improvements and purchasing efficiencies within daily operationsHow You’ll Make an ImpactEnsure on-time placement and execution of purchase orders to support production and customer fulfillmentMaintain strong alignment between procurement, manufacturing, and salesDrive on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance with suppliersAct as a key point of contact for supplier communication and issue resolutionContribute to a high-performing, accountable procurement functionQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) requiredAPICS certification preferredExperience5+ years of direct, hands-on buying/procurement experienceExperience supporting manufacturing and/or sales operations requiredProven experience managing purchase orders, suppliers, and delivery performanceExperience in a fast-paced, production-driven environment strongly preferredSkillsSAP experience required (PO processing, supplier management, master data)Kinaxis experience preferredStrong problem-solving and issue resolution skillsExcellent communication and supplier negotiation abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Ability to work cross-functionally and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
