Supply Assurance BuyerLocation: Hercules, CASchedule: Onsite, Monday–FridayDuration: 3-month contract with potential to extend or convertPay Rate: $37.30–$45.00/hour (DOE)Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Assurance Buyer to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of materials needed to meet production demands. This position plays a critical role in maintaining supply continuity and optimizing overall supply chain performance.Key Responsibilities:Place purchase orders for goods and services to support manufacturing operationsProcure direct materials in alignment with the manufacturing plan, driven by MRPManage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost efficiencyMonitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies to meet production needsIdentify and resolve potential supply issues proactivelyActively manage purchasing workflows within SAPResolve invoice discrepancies to minimize delays and ensure timely paymentsEnsure on-time delivery of materials that meet quality standardsPartner with scheduling and production teams to expedite orders as neededDrive process improvements and efficiencies within purchasing operationsParticipate in supplier audits and business reviewsMaintain accurate purchasing records and documentationProcess returns to vendor (RTVs) for non-conforming materialsEnsure compliance with internal policies, commercial requirements, and safety standardsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production planningExperience issuing and expediting purchase ordersWorking knowledge of purchasing and materials management principlesExposure to CPM and/or CPIM certification (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and TeamsExperience with SAP is highly preferred
