Junior Project Coordinator | Permitting and Construction Administration
JAS Builders is hiring a Junior Project Coordinator to support our project coordination team.This is an entry level construction administration role with a real growth path. The right person will learn how residential construction projects move from contract signing through engineering, permitting, utility coordination, inspections, construction, and project closeout.This is not a basic receptionist or filing role. This person will help support the project coordinators who keep projects moving, communicate with customers, work with municipalities, coordinate utilities, assist with permitting, and help the field team stay organized.The goal is for this person to grow into a full Project Coordinator role.What the Project Coordination Team DoesOur Project Coordinators support the project managers in the field and help manage the administrative side of each project from beginning to end. They are often one of the main points of contact for the customer and play a key role in keeping the project moving.The team works with:HomeownersProject managersMunicipal building departmentsUtility companiesInspectorsSurveyorsStructural engineersGeotechnical engineersArchitectsVendors and subcontractorsThey help gather information, submit permit documents, track approvals, coordinate inspections, obtain bids, communicate with vendors, and keep the project organized from preconstruction through completion.ResponsibilitiesThe Junior Project Coordinator will assist with:Learning the permitting process for residential construction projectsPreparing and organizing permit documentsCommunicating with municipalities and building departmentsCoordinating with utility companies for disconnects, reconnects, and project requirementsAssisting with inspection scheduling and follow upCommunicating with customers throughout the projectSupporting project managers with documents, updates, and coordination needsRequesting bids from vendors and subcontractorsComparing bids against project budgets and scopes of workCoordinating with engineers, architects, surveyors, and other consultantsTracking permit status, plan revisions, inspection results, and outstanding itemsHelping organize agreements, proposals, subcontractor documents, and project filesResubmitting plans or documents when required by permitting offices or inspectorsStaying engaged during construction to help resolve administrative issues quicklyWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is:Highly organizedA strong communicatorComfortable speaking with customers, vendors, and government officesAble to follow up without being remindedDetail orientedAble to learn new systems and processesCalm under pressureProfessional on the phone and by emailInterested in construction, permitting, and project managementWilling to start in a support role and grow into more responsibilityExperienceConstruction experience is helpful, but not required.Experience with any of the following is a plus:Residential constructionPermittingBuilding departmentsProject administrationCustomer serviceVendor coordinationBuildertrend or similar construction softwareMicrosoft Office, Google Workspace, or document management systemsGrowth PathThis role is intended to develop into a full Project Coordinator position.As the person learns our process, permitting requirements, customer communication standards, vendor coordination, and construction workflow, they will take on more responsibility and eventually manage project coordination directly.About JAS BuildersJAS Builders is a Florida general contractor specializing in structural elevation, house lifting, foundation work, renovations, and residential construction.
