It quickly established itself as one of the state's preferred architectural firms.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Manager / Designer to lead fire protection design and delivery for building projects. This role combines technical design expertise, project engineering skills, and team leadership to develop compliant, constructible fire protection systems for a variety of building types. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with architects, MEP teams, contractors and clients to drive projects from schematic design through construction support while ensuring quality, schedule and budget objectives are met.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage fire protection design for projects including sprinkler systems, standpipes, special suppression, and smoke control strategies.Serve as the project engineer for assigned projects: develop design documents, calculations, hydraulic analyses, equipment selections and specifications.Coordinate with architecture, structural and MEP disciplines to integrate fire protection solutions and resolve design conflicts.Prepare and review drawings and specifications in Revit, AutoCAD and/or other design tools; ensure deliverables meet firm standards and client requirements.Ensure code compliance by applying NFPA standards, IBC and other applicable codes; manage code research and rationale documents.Provide project management duties: scope development, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, client meetings and progress reporting.Perform quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) and peer review of design work produced by the team.Respond to contractor RFIs, review submittals, attend construction meetings and provide construction support including site visits and commissioning assistance.Mentor and develop junior designers and engineers; promote best practices in design, documentation and professional development.Support business development activities by preparing proposals, scopes, and technical content for client presentations.QualificationsBachelors degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Demonstrated experience in a project engineer role with responsibility for fire protection design and project delivery.Strong working knowledge of building codes and fire protection standards (NFPA, IBC, local jurisdictions).Proficiency in design tools such as Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, hydraulic calculation software and general office applications.Proven ability to coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary teams; experience applying Architecture skills to integrate fire protection systems.Experience managing multiple projects and delivering on schedule and budget; strong organizational and client communication skills.Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail and experience performing QA/QC and peer reviews.Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure.Nice to have: prior project experience in commercial, retail, grocery and multifamily building types and demonstrated background in fire protection system design.Ability to provide construction-phase support, site observation and contractor coordination as needed.BenefitsVacation/PTO Medical Dental Vision 401k    Email Your Resume In Word ToBlake.Tuthill@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
