It quickly established itself as one of the state's preferred architectural firms.Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Protection Designer to join our engineering/design team. The Fire Protection Designer will develop fire protection plans and details that integrate with architectural and project engineering requirements, support code compliance, and deliver constructible documentation for commercial, retail, grocery, and multifamily projects. The ideal candidate combines architectural understanding with engineering coordination, delivers clear construction drawings and specifications, and collaborates with project teams to provide practical, code-compliant fire protection solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare fire protection drawings, details, and specifications for sprinkler, standpipe, fire alarm, and related life-safety systems that coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines.Collaborate with architects, project engineers, contractors, and AHJs to ensure fire protection designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.Develop hydraulic calculations, riser diagrams, and system layouts; review and refine as part of design development and construction documents.Coordinate fire protection scope with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to resolve clashes and ensure constructability.Support Project Engineers in project delivery, including design development, bid support, permit submissions, and construction administration.Produce clear, accurate CAD/Revit drawings and maintain model/document control throughout the project lifecycle.Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities to verify installations and assist with field problem-solving.Stay current with NFPA codes, local regulations, and industry best practices; incorporate updates into design work and advise project teams.Assist in preparing proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates as part of project pursuits and resource planning.QualificationsBachelors degree in Architecture, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated experience in a project engineer or architectural design role, with specific exposure to fire protection systems design.Proficiency with CAD and/or Revit for producing construction drawings and BIM coordination.Working knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire codes; ability to interpret and apply code requirements to design.Experience on commercial, retail, grocery, or multifamily projects is highly desirable.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate with clients and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus; fire protection certifications or relevant continuing education preferred.BenefitsVacation/PTO Medical Dental Vision 401k    Email Your Resume In Word ToBlake.Tuthill@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
