We are located at the convenient location of 55 Highland Avenue in Salem, MA.We are seeking a full time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support our Pulmonary and Sleep practice from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm. Hours are flexible! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to primarily support one collaborative pulmonologist at our Salem location. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care, including rooming, vital signs, intake documentation in Epic, and vaccine administration. You will work closely with a pulmonologist who values attention to detail and is committed to supporting your professional development and growth. This position also offers the opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic pulmonary team, with occasional coverage at our Danvers, Rowley, and Beverly locations. Schedules and locations are provided in advance to support optimal planning and work-life balance.This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred. Certified Medical Assistant - preferred. Experience: Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position. Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments. Accuracy and attention to detail. Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations. Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens. Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Managing one's own time and the time of others.Strongly Preferred: Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience. National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
