Teacher - Middle School

DescriptionSaint Gregory the Great Catholic School is seeking a full time Middle School Theology and English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will cover two content areas- middle school Theology and English. The candidate must plan and implement innovative instructional practices that further the philosophy and goals of our school. The Teacher will also plan for both long and short-term instructional goals and will instruct and monitor student understanding and progress. Instruct through engaged, hands-on teaching and learning, utilize 21st Century teaching skills, possess good communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with an instructional team. Teach Catholic identity, including faith formation and Catholic tradition. As well as, teach middle school English. Utilize test data to improve quality of instruction, as well as maintain accurate and current individual records of student growth and share this information regularly with parents, students and the principal. Must be an organized individual, a strong communicator with their peers and nurture a Christ-centered environment.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Theology or Religious Studies and English; Valid Virginia State Teaching License in middle school English; Classroom Experience teaching; General knowledge of curriculum and instruction ; Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills; Successfully complete background screening; Successfully complete Diocesan sponsored child abuse awareness trainging, VIRTUS (additionally up to date VIRTUS monthly bulletins); Either a practicing Catholic or willingness to support instruction in Catholic teaching and tradition
