Patent Docketing Coordinator
Global law firm is seeking a Patent Docketing Coordinator to be based out of Boston, New York, Denver, or Washington, DC office. This position provides responsive, detail-oriented docketing support to clients, attorneys, paralegals, and staff. The coordinator will take a proactive approach to patent docketing while maintaining the firm's database across multiple offices.In this role you will review USPTO and foreign associate correspondence, identify and docket deadlines, and ensure all related materials are accurately recorded and saved. You will create and maintain docket records for new patent filings, update records and enter key dates from new matter communications. You will build and maintain strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent rules, staying current with regulatory changes and partnering with internal teams to prepare for updates. Success in this role requires a professional, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Candidates must have strong knowledge of USPTO rules, the ability to manage priorities, is an effective communicator and can meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in tools such as CPI, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access, and IPDAS, is necessary as well as being comfortable adapting to new technologies, including generative AI. Prior experience in IP prosecution as a secretary, paralegal, or docketing professional is preferred.The salary range is $79,000 to $120,000 depending on location and experience and a full comprehensive benefits package is included.
