Job SummaryMorgan County SchoolsTitle: Custodian Immediate Supervisor: PrincipalMinimum Qualifications:Demonstrated aptitude to understand and carry out assigned custodial responsibilitiesSuch alternatives to qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptableSkills and Abilities:Possesses knowledge and ability to perform multiple janitorial functionsCompletes all work orders in an efficient manner as directedFollows all schedules and list of responsibilities as assigned by the principalFollows all Morgan County School policies and proceduresEssential Functions:Opens and closes school dailyMonitors and adjusts heating and cooling systems to maximize efficient useCleans and maintains all floors, including stripping and waxingRemoves all trash dailyAssists teachers in moving or relocating furniture and equipmentCleans and disinfects all surfaces periodicallyAssists teachers in the disposal of unusable materials in a proper fashionReplaces light bulbs, HVAC filters, and other items as directedReports any vandalism immediately to the principalProvides all necessary supplies to all restroomsCompletes all janitorial functions as assigned by the principal and administrationMonitors and cleans all restrooms during the dayCompletely cleans and disinfects all restrooms dailyReports to principal and completes requisition for all janitorial suppliesProvides cleanup and rearrangement of all facilities after all eventsOperates all tools and equipment in a safe mannerAssists other janitorial personnel in developing and maintaining a productive and safe working environmentEngages in continuous professional training that enhances personal knowledge and self-improvementRepresents the school system, department, and all school personnel in a positive manner at all timesOther Attributes:Physically able to perform all duties associated with positionWears appropriate clothing and safety protectionsContributes and encourages a team effort and desire to serve the school system including other personnel, members of the community, parents, and students.Regular and punctual in attendanceEvaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.NOTE: Statements included in this description are intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities of this job and are not to be interpreted as being all inclusive.
