Helmut Lang’s dynamic utility captures the spirit of New York today.The Designer of Womenswear will cover all phases of the design development process: from building of initial concept thru sample making and production. Facilitate communication with all necessary departments including print, trim, embroidery, merchandising, patternmaking and production and build partnerships across brand. ResponsibilitiesResearch new product and work with Product Development team to create new qualities and prototypes. Review with design team. Interact with all areas (merchandising, product development, and manufacturing) to guarantee design integrity throughout all stages.Work with and guide Illustrator to develop style sketches.Develop color story with Design Director and determine color standards. Prepare standards for appropriate departments, and communicate to the team.Initiate new finishes for development.
