Serving areas in Northern Virginia, including Vienna, Oakton, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax, and Great Falls, SCNOVA helps older adults maintain independence and access enriching activities. The organization offers essential services like medical and companion transportation, friendly calls, active wellness programs, lunch and learns, and community fundraisers. SCNOVA works in collaboration with local congregations and community groups to better serve participants and volunteers.Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, on-site position located in Vienna, VA, for a Program and Event Coordinator. The coordinator will manage the planning, organization, and execution of programs and events that support SCNOVA’s mission. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, communicating with volunteers and community partners, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining event schedules, and other activity support as needed. This role will be pivotal in helping with the annual fundraiser in the fall by generating flyers, online auction support, and program materials. Additional duties include helping with event registrations, updating the online event calendar, and fostering community engagement to ensure successful program delivery.QualificationsExperienced in Event Planning and Event Management to coordinate on-site and virtual programs and events effectivelyStrong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with volunteers, community partners, and program participantsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Canva, Word Press)Previous experience in a non-profit organization or working with older adults is a plus, but not requiredShepherd’s Center of Northern Virginia is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
