PL/SQL Developer

Role: PL/SQL DeveloperSkills: Oracle, PL/SQL development, Copilot, ClaudeExperience: 12+ yearsLocation: Houston, TXWe are seeking a hands-on Sr. PL/SQL Developer with Strong, expert-level expertise in Oracle, specifically PL/SQL development, including deep understanding of PL/SQL core concepts, PL/SQL objects, and how they operate at a granular level.Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and support high-quality, business-critical planning and reporting applications where the core business logic resides in the Oracle database layer.Design and implement PL/SQL solutions, translating business requirements into robust technical specifications that solve problems both for the present and for future scale.Own the full engineering cycle end-to-end: development, testing, and production support, operating without a dedicated QA team.Interact directly with the business team when needed to refine requirements, propose the best technical approach, and deliver the solution.Provide occasional after-hours support for business-critical incidents when needed — not routinely but stepping up when the situation requires it.Leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality, treating AI as a helper — not as a substitute for genuine engineering judgment.Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions, bringing a proactive, curious, and prototype-driven mindset.Actively seek opportunities to innovate and optimize — bringing new ideas and prototypes forward in an environment where leadership encourages exploration.Required Skills & Qualifications:Strong, expert-level expertise in Oracle, specifically PL/SQL development, including deep understanding of PL/SQL core concepts, PL/SQL objects, and how they operate at a granular level.Solid command of SQL fundamentals and the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries in high-volume, business-critical environments.Experience with PythonExperience working with Oracle in enterprise environments where the database holds the core business logic.Hands-on experience supporting business-critical, user-centric applications in fast-paced environments where engineers own development, testing, and production support.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements directly into technical specifications without heavy hand-off layers.Experience using AI development tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or equivalent) as productivity helpers, with the discipline to review, understand, and validate AI-generated code before adopting it.Proactive, communicative, and adaptable — able to flex across multiple applications and reporting lines as business needs evolve.Nice to Have:Hands-on experience with SingleStore databaseExposure to Oracle 26ai features and AI-integrated database capabilities.Experience with SOX-compliant application support and audited environments.Prior experience in the oil & gas or energy sector
