Certified Surgical Technologist Location: Madison, WI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,726 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/4/2026 About the Position Job Title: Pediatric CVOR Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Pediatric CVOR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 18:30) Experience: Minimum two years of pediatric CVOR experience required License: Must have a valid license in hand by submission Certifications: BLS AHA, CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred Must-Have: Minimum two years of pediatric CVOR experience required If first-time traveler, must have five years of recent relevant CVOR experience Successful completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in the Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of program completion Description: This position is for a CVOR Surgical Technologist. During the week, duties will include CVOR and generalist cases. On-call will be for CVOR cases. Shifts are from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 07:00 and 18:30, with weeknight, weekend, and holiday call responsibility. Call will include CVOR cases. Candidates will need to have flexibility for weekends. A telemetry exam is required prior to starting the position. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole. No incorrect answers on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks. A passing score of 80% or higher is required for the adult exam. For the pediatric exam, a passing score of 80% or higher is required on ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia. Travelers will need to complete a competency renewal and have an active telemetry competency on file. The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room prior to surgery. Promoting the safety of the patient during surgery is a critical function. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon during surgery and cares for the instruments and supplies used. Knowledge and skills are required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups. The role involves Level 1 trauma and teaching facility responsibilities with a mix of outpatient and inpatient cases. The Surgical Technologist will handle both generalist cases and some cardiac cases. Candidates will be expected to participate in ongoing training and competency checks. Weekend rotations and some holiday coverage will be required as part of this position. Travelers may be assigned shifts in multiple units to meet current staffing needs.
