Job Title: Phlebotomist IPay Rate: $19.00/HRLocation: Tulsa, OKJob DescriptionThe primary role of a Phlebotomist I is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The position involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and updating patient information.Responsibilities+ Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.+ Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.+ Decontaminate work areas and update patient information.+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.+ Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.+ Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.+ Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.+ Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.+ Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.+ Follow specific protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens during transport.+ Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.+ Attend annual department trainings.+ Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.Essential Skills+ Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.+ Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a lab or hospital.+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.+ High School Diploma or GED.+ 0-2 years of experience in phlebotomy.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a Patient Service Center (PSC) setting, operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The role involves working alongside one other phlebotomist and managing an average of 65 patients per day.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, OK.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
