The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: - Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. - Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. - Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services and utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patients, and families. - Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. - Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patients and families as appropriate during their stay and at discharge. - Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor or preceptor. - Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. - Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement appropriately. - Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes while complying with regulatory standards. - Participates in the Practice Governance model.
