Clinical Lab Scientist - Trainee (Per diem)

OverviewResponsibilitiesPurpose:Trains to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Learns to perform laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.Responsibilities:1. Learns to perform the full range of procedures to perform laboratory tests.2. Learns to identify when sample, instrument, and/or procedural problems exist.3. Recognizes critical test results and execute appropriate notification protocol.4. Attends online courses and maintains satisfactory academic progress.5. Required to exhibit proficiency of laboratory techniques and pass competency exams.6. Learns to operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of lab equipment.7. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.8. Learns to identify and report safety issues.9. Demonstrates professional behavior and comfort in a hospital setting.10. Participates in laboratory improvement projects.11. Performs other duties as required or assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:• College-level coursework in General Studies, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry required.• Experience as a Laboratory Assistant or Phlebotomist preferred.• Eligible for acceptance into an MLT Associate's Degree program.Required Licensure/Certification Skills:• At the end of the training period, take and pass the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) exam.Area of Interest: Allied HealthPay Range: $7.25/Hr. - $50.00/Hr.FTE/Hours per pay period: .01 hrs/per week (per diem/temp)Shift: DayJob ID: 37013Dartmouth Health offers a total compensation package that includes a comprehensive selection of benefits.
