Master of Towing Vessels

Job Description Salary: $135,000-$230,000 per year DOEPosition Summary:We are seeking an experienced Master of Towing Vessels to operate and lead tug operations in San Francisco Bay and surrounding waters. The ideal candidate is a confident mariner with strong local knowledge, excellent crew leadership skills, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the operator-in-charge of towing vessels, conducting marine construction support, ship stores deliveries, and offshore towingLead and manage onboard crew operations, including training, safety drills, and work assignmentsConduct routine inspections of vessel systems and coordinate maintenance needs with shoreside personnelEnsure compliance with all USCG, company, and environmental regulationsComplete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timelyCommunicate effectively with dispatch, port captains, and clientsQualifications:Valid USCG Master of Towing Vesselslicense (Near Coastal or Oceans preferred)Proven proficiency in barge handling, ship assist, and wire towingStrong working knowledge of San Francisco Bay and/or West Coast towing operationsTWIC card and current USCG Medical CertificateStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs
