Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Salisbury, MD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: MLS/MT/MLT Specialty: Laboratory Duration: Full-time Shift: Variable Shifts Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Entry Level License: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Certifications: ASCP certification eligibility required Must-Have: - 2-year Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or - 4-year Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Description: The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/CLS/MT) and Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) are responsible for the performance, evaluation, and correlation of test procedures. They assist in the selection and evaluation of test methods. The MLS/MLT participates in the education and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees, and students. They may also participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions. The laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening, and night shifts. Both options may include weekends. Personnel may be expected to work additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies, and unexpected increases in workload. They are also expected to respond in the event of a disaster. Team members working at least 36 hours per pay period or part-time team members working at least 30 hours on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
