Marketing & Communications Manager

Canopy seeks a marketing and communications leader to establish market positioning and expand reach for the Midwest's leading agroforestry and perennial land management company. This role will establish Canopy as the definitive category leader in agroforestry solutions while executing initiatives to support significant growth objectives across all business units. This position will lead internal and external marketing and communication initiatives, requiring someone who is adept at both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.Brand PositioningEstablish Canopy as a thought leader in perennial land management and agroforestryConduct competitive and market research to identify differentiation opportunities and sharpen the company's positioning narrative for Canopy's products and servicesDevelop audience-specific messaging based on compelling value propositions for key target segments including conversion-focused materialsDefine and maintain a consistent brand identity, voice, and visual standards for internal and external audiencesPartner with leadership to ensure brand consistency as new products, services, or initiatives are brought to marketDigital Marketing & Content StrategyOwn and execute an integrated digital marketing strategy spanning website, email, SEO/SEM, and social mediaOptimize digital presence to showcase integrated services, drive conversions and strengthen market positionWork with internal teams and external vendors to manage a brand asset libraryDevelop and execute social media strategy with targeted growth objectivesMarket ActivationCollaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to transform internal expertise into externally facing content and campaignsDevelop case studies and client testimonials that demonstrate measurable outcomesMonitor and report on marketing campaigns and channel performanceLeverage engagement with community partners for network amplificationCommunicationsManage internal and external communications strategyLead internal communications development including an internal podcast and other communications initiatives that align leadership & company teamsServe as the primary liaison with advertisers, PR contacts, agencies, or freelancers to develop media relationshipsSupport executive and leadership communications, including presentations, talking points, and key message developmentRequirements6+ years integrated marketing experience spanning brand strategy, communications, and content developmentDemonstrated success developing audience-specific messaging that drives lead generation and brand awarenessTrack record establishing thought leadership positioning for companiesComfort working independently and with diverse, remote teamsExperience writing and editing both internal and external communications for a range of audiencesHands-on experience with digital marketing, including content creation and performance trackingExperience working with graphic design to support website development, print materials and collateral creationExperience cultivating relationships with brand ambassadors and partners to extend brand reachExperience developing content independently and collaborating with content partnersPreferred QualificationsBackground in sustainability, agriculture, agroforestry, or science-based industries strongly preferredAbility to translate agricultural/environmental concepts for diverse audiencesTrack record of successful partnerships and co-marketing initiativesExperience building marketing functions in growth-stage companiesUnderstanding of science-informed practices in agriculture/sustainabilityBasic graphic design proficiency (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace) to support day-to-day content needsBenefits401(k)PTOQSEHRA healthcare reimbursementJ-18808-Ljbffr
