They supervise and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.Key ResponsibilitiesFollows established policies and procedures.Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.Provides excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.Applies Cooper's core values.Performs Other duties as required.OverviewKelemen North 7 is a 23-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit specializing in the care of traumatically injured patients. Patients with injuries that are stable but require ongoing close monitoring are admitted to this unit directly from the ED or the Ross Trauma Admitting Area. Patients are also admitted to the unit as they are downgraded from the Trauma/Surgical ICU or the Trauma Step-Down Unit. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient.Experience RequiredA minimum of one year or more of RN acute care experience in an inpatient setting is preferredEducation RequirementsGraduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing.License/Certification RequirementsCurrent NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS).Salary Min ($)USD $46.85Salary Max ($)USD $70.81
