Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU/Med-Surg/Oncology unit at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and at least 1 year of PCU or oncology experience, with 12-hour night shifts.Job Details• Acute care setting at a Level I Trauma Center,• PCU/Med-Surg/Oncology unit with 28 beds,• Mixed unit caring for oncology and trauma PCU patients, as well as general med-surg patients,• Adult patient population,• Patient ratios: 1:4 (PCU) and 1:5 (Med-Surg) on days; 1:5-6 on nights,• Common drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix; RNs may be required to titrate insulin and cardizem,• Specialty equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Lyko lifts, and equipment for hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000),• EMR: Epic (recent Epic experience within 6 months is noted during orientation planning but is not a dealbreaker),• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a),• Every other weekend required,• Self-scheduling unit,• Floating required to same level of care (Med-Surg and PCU units),Job Requirements• Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license - must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted,• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS,• ONS/ONCC certification required,• Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology nursing experience,• PCU and oncology experience preferred; chemotherapy certification preferred but not required,• A driver's license is required for consideration and will be used to verify permanent address,• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,• Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility,Additional Information• Unit is supported by nursing assistants, a charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social worker, educator, and dietician,• Navy blue scrubs required,• Orientation is 2 days (approximately 12 hours); a pass/fail open-book exam is administered during orientation - candidates must score 90% or higher to pass,• Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not required; competencies for ventilator, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICP monitoring can be trained on the unit in real time,• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Candidates who have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered,• RTO must be disclosed upfront; up to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no additional RTO will be approved after consideration,• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination,
