Summary
We are seeking a contractor to support a multi-year document management and records compliance initiative. This role will work closely with the document management team to help migrate a large volume of content from non-compliant applications and storage solutions into approved, compliant document platforms.
This position is execution-focused and ideal for someone with a strong understanding of document management, taxonomy, and records governance principles. While deep technical system expertise is not required, the ability to understand how documents are classified, governed, and mapped across systems is critical.
Responsibilities
Execute document governance activities, including taxonomy and metadata alignment from a records management perspective
Support migration of documents from current repositories into compliant document management platforms
Apply record categories and retention schedules according to governance standards
Perform metadata validation, classification, and access control reviews
Manage document intake requests and workflows using JIRA and Confluence
Track and support reporting on migration and governance activities
Write and execute UAT test cases and scripts to validate document migrations and controls
Support cleanup and remediation of shared drives and other legacy/non-compliant storage locations
Assist in mapping and organizing documents, including customer-related documentation where applicable
Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall program
Qualifications

Experience supporting document governance or migration initiatives
Hands-on experience with UAT (test case development, execution, and validation)
Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar workflow/intake tools
Familiarity with document and records management platforms such as Documentum, FileNet, or similar systems
Strong Excel skills for tracking, analysis, and reporting
Strong execution mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a structured environment
Experience in document management, records management, business operations, risk, or related fields
Strong understanding of document taxonomy, classification, and records management principles
