As a Cook III, the care you devote to food and workspace preparation will result in the creation of truly spectacular fare.Hourly Rate: $31.70What you will be doing:Ensuring high quality and consistency of food preparation and presentation as per Fairmont standardsEnsure overall cleanliness and maintenance of our kitchen exceeds expectationsMaintain a clean workstation and minimize wasteCheck service stations for necessary equipment and set up: ice, dishes, and utensils; replenish as neededHave full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methodsOrganize time so all side work is completed according to shift demandProvide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient service to our culinary teamMaintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guestsFocus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPromote and enforce health and safety awareness as well as to have a complete understanding of the emergency proceduresFollow hotel and departmental policies, procedures and service standardsSchedule: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including overnight, weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.QualificationsYour experience and skills include:Two years previous cooking experience, preferably in a similar high volume environment is requiredPrevious culinary hotel work experience or similar environment is an assetMust be able to speak, read, write and understand the English languageRequires good communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust be able to read and write to facilitate the communication processMust be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externallyMust possess basic computational abilityEducation* High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training* Culinary Degree from an accredited college, university or trade school is an assetLicenses or Certificates:* TB Clearance required* Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification requiredAdditional InformationAll Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States as defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).
