Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Cardiac patient population with telemetry monitoring needs Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Night shift patient ratios are 6-7:1, with potential stretch to 8-10:1 if staff call-ins occur Day/evening patient ratios are 5:1, with potential stretch to 6-7:1 PCTs are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living Every other weekend (EOW) required Floating between like units required to meet facility needs Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred No on-call requirements Requirements Active NY RN license required (no pending licenses accepted) Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement competency required for all RNs at this facility Experience with telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Proficiency with peripheral line care/management, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen delivery devices (nasal cannula, face masks, portable oxygen tanks) Experience with isolation precautions and use of Rapid Response Teams Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Navy and white scrubs (any combination) required RTO is limited to no more than 1 week during the 13-week contract; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID P-683517.
