Job SummaryThe Human Resources role manages the full employee lifecycle, serving as the primary point of contact for recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations. This position ensures company policies and HR procedures are administered consistently while leading critical compliance initiatives, including workplace safety training and the Drug-Free Workplace Program.Success in this role is measured by maintaining accurate employee records, supporting smooth hiring and onboarding processes, responding to employee HR inquiries in a timely and professional manner, and ensuring HR programs and compliance requirements are administered consistently across the organization.The Human Resources role reports directly to the Administrative Services Manager and works closely with leadership and department managers to support employee development, HR compliance, and a positive workplace culture. A key responsibility includes providing direct oversight and support to the Payroll Associate, ensuring seamless alignment between HR data and payroll execution.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & OnboardingAssist with the recruitment process by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication, and supporting hiring decisions with leadership.Manage onboarding for all W-2 employees, ensuring required tax forms, drug testing, and safety training are completed in accordance with company policy and onboarding timelines.Coordinate subcontractor onboarding by collecting required documentation and ensuring all company forms are completed, signed, and on file before work begins.Conduct new hire orientation to ensure employees receive necessary information regarding company policies, procedures, and benefits.Maintain organized employee onboarding records and documentation.Payroll Oversight & CoordinationProvide direct oversight and day-to-day support to the Payroll Associate to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.Assist in training and onboarding the Payroll Associate, identifying ongoing development needs to support high performance and accuracy.Serve as a liaison between HR, Payroll, and leadership to support process improvements and maintain efficient coordination between departments.Ensure strict alignment between HR functions (onboarding, benefits, terminations) and payroll execution.Conduct and submit performance evaluations for the Payroll Associate in accordance with company review processes.Monitor payroll-related workflows and escalate any significant concerns to the Administrative Services Manager as needed.Employee Relations & HR SupportServe as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, company policies, and workplace concerns.Assist in addressing employee concerns and workplace issues by coordinating with management and helping facilitate appropriate resolutions.Support the communication of company policies, updates, and HR initiatives to employees.Promote a positive workplace culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives and internal HR programs.HR Compliance & Employee RecordMaintain and update employee personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Assist with maintaining and updating HR-related policies, employee handbook content, and acknowledgement forms.Monitor HR-related regulatory changes and support compliance with applicable labor laws and workplace regulations.Benefits Administration & HR ProgramsManage employee benefits and incentive programs by gathering necessary data and coordinating with management on annual selections.Administer all aspects of the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Program, including the timely completion of annual program renewals and the distribution of required monthly employee newsletters to maintain regulatory compliance.Serve as the primary point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries, guiding employees through documentation and enrollment processes.Coordinate company-wide training initiatives and employee development opportunities to improve overall staff performance and professional growth.General & Collaborative ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance, support, and accountability for the Payroll Assistant.Effectively manage assigned company email correspondence in a timely and professional manner.Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, position, or beliefs.Collaborate with colleagues across all departments while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.Work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.Be prepared to assist with additional tasks as requested by management to support evolving business needs.Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company financial information, project bids, employee records, and client data. This role is required to sign the company’s Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment.Required Qualifications & Skills1–3 years of HR experience preferred; however, a highly motivated recent graduate with a degree in Human Resources or Business will be considered if they demonstrate a strong understanding of HR systems and structure.Proven ability to organize data and a desire to help build and refine departmental processes.Basic understanding of HR principles, employment practices, and workplace regulations.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and general HR software tools.Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily office-based and requires extended periods of computer use and administrative work.
