Senior Accountant - Health Care/Hospital Accounting

What is it for you:Healthcare system operating under strict financial and regulatory standards Includes nonprofit Foundation accounting adhering to GAAP fund-based accounting Strong compliance-driven financial environment Stable, growing company with tremendous opportunity for career advancement Competitive compensation and benefits What You Will Be DoingCore Accounting & Financial ReportingManage revenue recognition, expense entries, A/R analysis, inventory analysis Execute pre-close and full month-end close processes Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Conduct variance analysis and identify financial risks Analyze general ledger accounts and assigned cost centers Prepare monthly financial analyses, schedules, and supporting documentation Develop financial and statistical reports for monthly close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit Regulatory & ComplianceEnsure compliance with GAAP and GASB standards Perform regulatory accounting entries and government reporting Manage capital and fixed asset accounting Maintain confidentiality of financial and patient information Foundation (Non-Profit) Accounting OwnershipManage fund-based accounting under GAAP Oversee fund tracking and donor-restricted assets Monitor grant disbursements Prepare nonprofit financial reports Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations Audit & Leadership SupportAssist with internal and external audits Lead monthly operating reviews with department managers Provide financial insight to improve departmental margins Act as secondary contact for capital-related reporting Provide backup leadership support for Accounts Payable Mentor and support Finance team members informally Strategic & Process ImprovementIdentify trends and recommend financial improvements Enhance accounting and reporting efficiency Maintain knowledge of internal and external finance systems Participate in continuing education and professional developmentExperience You Will NeedBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required) 2-4+ years of progressive accounting experience CPA preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and GASB Experience with nonprofit / fund accounting preferred Advanced Excel skills required Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong analytical, mathematical, and report-writing skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities
