Production Supervisor
Job Summary
Supervise the activities of the production department in the manufacture of Poly Iso Insulation and associated products. Employee will be used to fill in on other jobs in plant as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise all Production employees (and occasionally personnel from other departments on same shift)
Coach and develop employees in their respective positions
Direct and coordinate activities associated with the production department
Supervise all plants safety rules and regulations
Perform yearly reviews on employees as well as 30, 60, 90-day reviews on new hires
Document incidents, disciplinary actions, accident/injury reports and other related forms when needed
Have an advanced understanding of all production positions
Periodic inspection of material being produced for quality defects and other issues
Assist in and oversee Housekeeping of plant, inside and out
Help formulate and implement plan to achieve yearly plant goals as they pertain to the department
Oversee usage of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software on the production line
Create and manage SOPs and other training documents
Assist with COS work processes
Assist in and oversee the training of all production personnel
Fill in for other supervisors when required (vacation, absenteeism, trainings, etc)
Be knowledgeable regarding safe/proper disposal of Waste Chemicals
Update and present SQDC board during Tier Meetings

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, post high school education strongly preferred.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of related leadership, supervisory, and/or management experience required in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Microsoft Office, SFIS, Wonderware, batching program highly preferred
Equipment Used
This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: phone, radio, computer, copier, and printer
Oversee the use of chemical mixing/metering skids, web conveying equipment, laminators, robotic stacking equipment, and automatic cutting machines and other equipment as needed
Working Conditions
Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing facility. Job includes, but is not limited to, exposure to temperatures both ambient/outside temperatures, nuisance dust, use of chemicals, pinch point on moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment operation including forklift
About 50% of work is done in an office setting with the other 50% being spent on the plant floor
Hours Worked - typically 8-10 hour shifts, depending on demand, pre-shift work, etc.
Days of Week Worked - typically 5 days per week, depending on demand/covering as needed
Shifts Worked - set shift hired to work, but may need to cover other shifts as needed
Travel Requirement
Overnight travel, up to 10%, this will include travel to other facilities and to trainings
First six months may have significantly more travel to facilitate training of operators
