Headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey the firm is committed to driving innovation and excellence.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time opportunity for a Financial Controller and Fund Operations Associate based in Chicago, IL. The Associate will serve as the operational and financial backbone of the firm, anchoring controllership activities while supporting fund administration, portfolio operations and day-to-day coordination. This role blends traditional financial control and broad operational support across the investment team and is ideal for a detail-driven, operationally minded finance professional who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and seeks exposure to the inner workings of a growing private equity firm.Fund Accounting & Controllership (12 – 15 hours / week)- AP and vendor payments.- Firm financial records and month-end close.- Fund audit coordination.- Funds-flow execution at deal closings.- Cash, banking and wire execution.- T&E processing and expense allocation.- Tax advisor liaison (federal / state filings, K-1s).- Insurance policy management (D&O, E&O, Cyber, GL).Fund Administration & LP Operations (6 – 8 hours / week)- Capital call math and notices.- Distribution notices and waterfall computations.- Quarterly and Annual LP reporting coordination.- LP onboarding (subscription document, AML/KYC).- Side letter log and MFN compliance monitoring.Documentation & Knowledge Management (3 – 5 hours / week)- Maintenance of SharePoint documentation and firm materials.- PowerPoint and Word write-ups as necessary. Calendar & Cadence Ownership (4 - 6 hours / week)-Weekly call agenda, task list, and follow-ups.-Working-session scheduling across the team.-Conferences calendar and attendance planning.-IR calendar deliverables (interim, until IR hire onboards).CRM & Data Operations (2 - 4 hours / week)-Data-integrity audits and maintenance of CRM systems (Affinity and Monday).-Ensure systems automation workflow efficiency.Deal Execution Support (2 - 4 hours / week, transaction-dependent)-Data room organization and access control.-Closing checklist ownership.-Post-close transaction archiving.Portfolio Monitoring Operations (2 - 4 hours / week)-Data (KPI) collection from portfolio teams (monthly and quarterly).-Portfolio monitoring dashboard maintenance.Ad-Hoc Partner Support (4 - 6 hours / week)-Short-turnaround analyses (e.g., LP prioritization queries).-Bespoke meeting prep.-One-off initiatives that surface during the work week.Qualifications- 3 to 5 years of full-time work experience in fund accounting, public accounting, private equity controllership or a similar role.- CPA or active candidacy role.- Working knowledge of fund structures, capital call and distribution mechanics and fair-value accounting for private markets.- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.- Exposure to fund administration platforms and CRM systems a plus.- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to handle confidential financial information.- Strong organizational abilities with a proven record of managing workflows.Self-starter comfortable in a lean, multi-hat environment.
