OverviewThe faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in English courses. This role will instruct and evaluate students in English courses such as English Composition I & II and Technical and Professional Communication.QualificationsEDUCATIONBachelor's Degree in English or closely related discipline. RequiredMaster's Degree in English, or closely related discipline. RequiredCoursework in or experience using technology in instruction. PreferredExperienceEquivalent of three years teaching high school English classes or one year (two semesters) teaching English Composition or Technical Communication/Technical Writing for a college. RequiredExperience in business or industry producing written documents (for internal or external audiences). PreferredAbilities And SkillsInterpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, and the public. RequiredSensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff. RequiredAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. RequiredDeveloped organizational skills. RequiredDemonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. RequiredResponsibilitiesInstruct and evaluate students in English courses such as English Composition I & II and Technical and Professional Communication.Maintain accurate written records of student performance.Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.Participate in School assessment process.Maintain office hours according to the standardized part-time teaching agreement.Additional ResponsibilitiesAttend department and School meetings as requested.Physical Standards and Special Job FeaturesNonePay TransparencyThe part-time rate for 2025/26 will be the greater of $1160 per credit or $773 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven.
