Accounts Payable Clerk

Accounts Payable Clerk As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payments and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. This will involve compiling and maintaining accounts payable records, while also providing clerical and administrative support as needed. Specific duties in this clerical role include: Performing day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities and providing efficient client service Keeping track, processing and reconciling payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions etc., in compliance with financial policies and procedures Ensuring correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts Liaising with internal and external clients Regularly tabulating data and compiling necessary reports Continuously improving payment processes Job Requirements: We are looking for an objective Accounts Payable Clerk who combines a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be highly organized and detail-oriented and possess the ability to effectively work both independently and in a team setting. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Specific requirements for this bookkeeping position include: Associate degree, or equivalent, or technical school; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, preferred Proven working experience as an accounts payable clerk High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Solid data entry skills along with a knack for numbers Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software Proficiency in MS Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
