Details High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients Unit manages an average daily census of 15 patients with 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 rooms Medications administered include Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate Unit has 4 ORs and operates in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines EMR: Epic (required) Electronic fetal monitoring (hard stop requirement) Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as needed Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including sister facilities that have Mother/Baby units Requirements Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS and NRP Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate Minimum 3–5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment required (5 years of high-risk experience strongly preferred) High-risk L&D experience is required Epic EMR experience required Must be proficient in electronic fetal monitoring Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including newborn assessments, eye care (erythromycin), and Vitamin K (thigh) injections — this is a hard stop requirement Must be able to circulate Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Former permanent staff of non-Swedish Providence facilities must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible Former permanent Swedish facility staff are not eligible for a travel contract at this location Travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Minimal RTO is expected; requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and excessive RTO may impact eligibility All travelers are expected to float between facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination American Traveler Job ID P-692489.
