Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a CT Technologist (CT Tech) you will perform CT scans and take x-rays according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American College of Radiology and the Texas Medical Board to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Computed Tomography procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.You will demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniquesYou will verify written orders match requisition prior to performing examYou will follow appropriate protocol for the exam orderedYou will administer contrast material using proper techniqueYou will enter appropriate charges and reviews for accuracyYou will correlate patient’s clinical history with procedure; assuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologistYou will manage patient flow to ensure that exams are prioritized appropriately and performed efficientlySchedule: Friday-Sunday, 0700-1930What qualifications you will need:One year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care settingOne year experience performing CT procedures - preferredGraduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic TechnologyCompletion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomyCurrent Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policyCertified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R))Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months of CT assignmentSt. David’s Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a comprehensive medical facility with three locations: St. David’s Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Austin, and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.
