Apply today!Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Controller, this role provides comprehensive service in financial award management, compliance for the academic sponsored research portfolio of approximately $15 million. Key duties include creating, implementing and enforcing policies and practices that ensure sponsored activity is accurately recorded and reconciled, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) requirements are met, and financial reporting and analysis is complete, timely, and audit-ready. This position is the administrative liaison between the administrative core, the Office of Academic Research, and principal investigators (PIs). The incumbent has a broad scope and knowledge of research administration and financial matters.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, to include at least two (2) years of experience in research administration or accountingExpertise in GAAP; nonprofit fund accounting; Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200); and sponsored research complianceExcellent communication skills (both oral and written) to elicit and disperse information; to present information (including data) and communications in a clear and concise mannerStrong organizational, administrative, time management and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independentlyAbility to organize and prioritize workload in a multi-tasking environment while maintaining careful attention to detailAdvanced Excel skillsPreferred QualificationsCPA, an advanced degree in business or a related field, and / or another relevant licensure or certificationFour or more years of experience in research administration or accountingPrevious experience with research administration or accounting in higher education or complex nonprofit environmentsExperience with Banner finance and grant module and CayuseExperience supporting single auditsAbility to promote inclusive excellence in the workplaceSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsTo apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
