Depending on qualifications, development and teaching at the graduate level may also occur. The ability to teach in a secondary area such as finance or data analytics is desirable.The Paul Dickinson School of Business seeks to prepare innovative leaders with spiritual and moral values, purpose, imagination, and vision to move into the 21st century and the everchanging business world, all within the context of Oklahoma Baptist University's liberal arts curriculum.Essential FunctionsTeach accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levelsServe as academic advisor to students as assignedParticipate in recruitment activities of the Paul Dickinson School of Business; collaborate with the Chair, Dean, and Admissions in recruitment and retention activitiesOther DutiesServe on University committees as assignedAssist with the assessment process and accreditation reporting for the accounting majorProvide departmental duties as assignedWork collaboratively with colleagues, and activate professional networks to provide students with guided, real-world opportunitiesQualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredPossess and demonstrate strong pedagogy in accounting coursesAble to communicate clearly and effectivelyPossess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skillsAble to assess student ability and adjust teaching as appropriateAble and willing to advise and mentor studentsAble to relate to colleagues in the OBU community and serve as a representative to the professional community beyond OBUPossess commitment to pursue scholarly activityAble and willing to teach some online coursesProficient with personal computing software and hardwareProficient with classroom audio/visual equipmentAble to travel locally, regionally, and nationallyPossess the mobility and stamina required to walk about campus to visit various officesAble to transport moderately heavy items to offices and classroomsEducationPreferred:Ph.D.Required:Master's degree in accounting or MBA with CPAExperiencePreferred:Successful teaching experience at the university level and industry experienceSpecial RequirementsMust be a member of a local evangelical Christian church. *Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.OBU Benefits SummaryOBU understands that our employees are our most valuable assets when fulfilling our mission.
