For information on fixed-term contracts, please see UW System Admin Policy 1250: Job Security.Reporting to the Director of TRIO Student Support Services and Learning Support Center, the TRIO Math Specialist teaches a partial course load each semester and provides math tutorial support services to TRIO Student Support Services Scholars.TRIO Math Specialist Responsibilities:Individually or in LEA tutorial courses, tutor TRIO SSS students who are enrolled in math courses (MAT 090, 091, 103, 108, 110, 113, and 117) or in other courses requiring quantitative reasoningConduct formal and informal needs assessment of TRIO SSS students' mathematical skillsDevelop math workshops and/or study groups based on TRIO students' needs and interestDevelop curricular materials and instructional strategies for LEA courses and supplemental materials for all math coursesMaintain contact with TRIO SSS students enrolled in math courses to offer them academic supportMaintain records of all student contacts and prepare reports on student progress and the delivery of support services by utilizing EAB NavigateMeet regularly with TRIO SSS staff to assess needs and monitor progress of individual students.
