CNC Machinist (1st Shift)
Your JobAs a CNC Machinist, you will produce high‑quality machined parts by setting up and operating CNC equipment while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing operations through precision machining, documentation, and continuous improvement.Our TeamYou will be part of a skilled machine shop team that works closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing partners. The team focuses on precision, accountability, and collaboration to meet production commitments and quality expectations.What You Will DoSet up and operate Fanuc and HAAS CNC milling centers using Mastercam softwareInterpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirementsMachine parts to close tolerances using appropriate gauges and inspection techniquesDocument setup and operation details for each job using written descriptions, sketches, and/or photosPerform manual machining and CNC operations as requiredTrain and support junior operators and apprenticesMaintain quality and safety standards while keeping accurate production recordsPerform additional duties as assigned to support shop and business needsWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)3–7 years of experience in manual machining and CNC setup and operationExperience using conversational programming on CNC machinesAbility to read and comprehend complex machine and component drawingsProficiency in measuring and inspection techniques for tight tolerancesStrong problem‑solving and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to work independently and with limited supervisionAbility to speak, read, and understand English and follow verbal instructionsStrong work ethic with a sense of urgency and commitment to teamworkWillingness to work overtime and weekends as requiredFor U.S. roles: U.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentWhat Will Put You AheadProficiency with Mastercam softwareExperience training or mentoring other machinists or apprenticesStrong documentation discipline and process awarenessDemonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvementWillingness to support multiple machining tasks and evolving production needsAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
