The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Linux system administration, security hardening, and automation using Python and Shell scripting. This role involves hands-on execution in production environments, supporting operational automation, and maintaining high standards of system security and configuration compliance.Core ResponsibilitiesAdminister and troubleshoot Linux systems in production environments.Design, develop, and maintain automation using Ansible (critical requirement) for configuration management and orchestration.Implement and maintain Linux security hardening in line with CIS benchmarks and best practices.Write and troubleshoot Python and Shell (Bash) scripts for automation and operational support.Conduct firewall assessments, system-side hardening, and security configuration activities.Support CI/CD processes with automation and operational support.Manage operational tasks in a ticket-driven environment, including incidents and service requests.Follow change management processes, including approvals and participation in change meetings.Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, operational guides, and SOPs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and performance of Linux environments.Required QualificationsStrong experience in Linux system administration and troubleshooting in production environments.Advanced knowledge of Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration (dealbreaker).Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting (Bash).Hands-on experience in Linux security hardening and configuration best practices (dealbreaker).Understanding of CI/CD concepts and operational automation support.Experience with operational and process management in ticket-driven environments.Solid understanding of change management processes and documentation best practices.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting enterprise data centers or colocation environments.Exposure to enterprise monitoring, logging, and configuration compliance tools.Familiarity with structured IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
