Core Network Automation Engineer

Pay rate is $70 to $80 per hourWe are seeking a Core Network Automation Engineer whose primary focus is building and operating automated solutions for core network infrastructure. This role is centered on replacing manual network operations with scalable, repeatable automation using Ansible, Python, and related tooling. The ideal candidate is a network engineer who thinks in workflows, templates, and code, and applies those skills to large, complex network and firewall environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain automation frameworks for core network infrastructureDevelop automation using Ansible, Python, and related tools to manage network and firewall platformsReplace manual network configuration and change processes with fully automated workflowsAutomate provisioning, validation, compliance checks, and rollback for network changesBuild standardized network configurations using templates, variables, and source controlIntegrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines and operational workflowsDevelop automated testing and pre/post-change validation for network changesOperate and troubleshoot automated network systems in production environmentsContinuously improve automation coverage, reliability, and scalabilityDocument automation architecture, workflows, and network standardsRequired QualificationsStrong experience building network automation using Ansible, Python, or similar toolsSolid background in core networking (routing, switching, firewall platforms)Hands-on experience automating network changes in production environmentsStrong understanding of network data models, templates, and configuration abstractionsExperience using version control systems (Git) for network automationAbility to troubleshoot both network behavior and automation logicPreferred QualificationsExperience building end-to-end network automation platforms or frameworksFamiliarity with CI/CD tooling for infrastructure or network automationExperience with network state validation, testing, or intent-based approachesExperience working in large-scale or highly available network environmentsAdvanced networking or automation certifications
