Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Cornelius, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,983 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/27/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years PCU experience required; will accept a first-time traveler if more than 5 years of PCU experience. License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General nursing skills including IV starts, wound care, and dressing changes. Comfortable with central lines, NG tube insertion, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Ability to titrate infusions including Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, heparin, and insulin. Experience with EPIC EMR required. Must be willing to learn to manage vented patients and Precedex drips. Description: This is a new Progressive Care Unit opening with 33 beds. The unit will initially operate at 50% capacity and expand as needed. Patient types include adults with medical-based conditions such as CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, and sepsis. Patient ratios will be 1:4. Support staff includes CNAs and a charge nurse. No phlebotomy services are provided; nurses are expected to perform lab draws. Travelers will be the first to float within the scope of practice as needed. Weekend rotation will include 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. The scheduling is self-scheduled with manager approval. 75% of holidays will be covered per contract. Scrub color is navy blue. Unit culture details will be provided during the onboarding process.
