This pivotal role involves supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization, which specializes in designing, developing, and demonstrating avionics solutions for the F-22 Raptor. The successful candidate will work within an agile team environment to develop and maintain sophisticated simulation environments and infrastructure that underpin the testing and development of advanced capabilities for the F-22 aircraft. These simulation models are integral to supporting software engineers and are utilized across desktop development environments and hardware/software integration labs throughout the enterprise. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technology and work on projects critical to national defense.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and relevant experience, including U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related fields is required. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in programming languages such as Ada, C++, Python, or C#, and proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or related fields, along with extensive experience in software modeling, simulation, and real-time architecture. Knowledge of API design, cloud architecture, containerization, networking, and verification processes will be highly advantageous. The ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP) is also essential.ResponsibilitiesDesign, architect, and develop simulation models, visualization tools, virtual environments, and frameworks to improve test performance, safety, and durability across the product lifecycle.Collaborate with stakeholders to review and define simulation requirements, understanding the dynamics of the systems being modeled.Support the creation, testing, and analysis of simulation models to assess and optimize system performance and capabilities.Participate in data collection, processing, and integration efforts to enhance simulation accuracy and fidelity.Assist in the validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software, models, and test procedures, ensuring alignment with real-world data and benchmarks.Document and maintain technical code, algorithms, and specifications related to simulation models for future reference and updates.Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to enable seamless integration of simulation software with hardware systems.Implement emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to modernize and sustain simulation environments.Support software migration efforts, updating legacy systems to operate effectively on new platforms and operating systems.BenefitsBoeing offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to attract, engage, and retain top talent.
